I hate getting behind on this, I know it was only yesterday but I really can't remember what I did on Sunday. I'll try and remember as I write.
I worked at Lazia as they had, again, put me down for a sunday despite agreeing not to do that. I had had to drop some of my shifts (with plenty of notice) due to the other job so I thought it best to compromise and agree to do this one sunday.
it was really quiet. there were about five of us working and probably the same number of groups eating so we got some general housework done. I dusted the wine shelves for example. I'm used to it being quiet in the shop and busy in the restaurant so this was very strange but most people were off having thanksgiving meals with their families at home.
There was one strange guy from the Philippines who came in and started talking to me for ages, until the manager called me over, which I was very grateful for.
I ordered the lettuce wraps for my lunch and made a complete mess of trying to eat them, but they were delicious.
When my shift was over I checked the schedule and noticed I had been put down for the next day as well, despite letting them know I couldn't do this already. the manager was not happy about this at all as it left him with no notice to try and find someone else. they seem to keep constantly messing these things up so far. hopefully from now on things will be much more regular and easier.
I went out for a few drinks in the evening to the Sugar Bowl again. I had a raspberry beer, then a really nice porter, then a Canadian beer with spices.
I am missing my friends back home and spying on facebook updates to see what people are up to. New is exciting but sometimes it sucks. I'm meeting all sorts of interesting new people and hanging out with them, but none of them have known me for more than a few weeks.
