I'm a bit behind now, so I'll try and be quick.
Lazia was really busy on Friday but one group included a couchsurfer friend of mine and a couple of girls recognised me from the running room. One had just done her first marathon!
once my shift finished, I got the train to the designated meeting point to get a lift to Banff. I was meeting Nicole and her friend Ian but another girl I hadn't met yet would be driving us all. Ian was an hour late, which was annoying as it would have given me time to go home and change or go grocery shopping for example, but it did mean we got to chat.
The journey was slower than we thought due to traffic, so instead of arriving in Banff in time for dinner, we stopped at McDonalds on the way down. I can't remember the last time I bought food from McDonalds so I felt pretty disgusted with myself but it wasn't too bad.
I explained the rules of "mountain", but nobody else seemed keen. more points for me!
Once we arrived at the hostel, we checked in, dumped our bags and headed straight to the hostel bar for some cheap rum and cokes. Due to there being karaoke going on, I had quite a few rum and cokes. in fact quite a lot of rum and cokes. but I did have a great evening and laughed a lot.
if I wake up in time tomorrow morning I'll continue on with Saturday and Sunday. maybe by mid-week I'll be up to date...
