Day 56: Canadian birthday and 1st snow day!

I woke up this morning, looked out of the window and felt very at home.  Everything was wet and it looked like a typical English Autumn day.  While I was eating my breakfast, you mostly couldn't see the mountains as they were shrouded by cloud, so it was quite different to breakfast on the last trip I had here.  Then it started snowing!  its never snowed on my birthday before!  it was very exciting.
I also checked my emails and facebook and saw lots of "happy birthday" messages from people, both back home and in Canada so that made me very happy too.

We checked out and left not long after breakfast, but the roads were very slippery and treacherous so we moved very slowly and passed several cars that had skidded off the road.  We ended up listening to a country radio station for most of the journey, which was pretty funny, especially one song about a pick-up truck.  Again, we were stuck with only fast food options for lunch and we went to Wendy's this time.  It was a fun journey so I didn't really mind spending most of my birthday in a car.

I was really tired, but still went round to a friend's house once I got back to Edmonton for some comfort food, wine and a film.  I wanted to drag out my birthday enjoyment even longer.  Although I decided to have a few days off socialising after this to just catch up on sleep and get chores done.

I was worried my birthday might have been rubbish here, but I had a really good time!
