Day 41: Inventory

my normal Saturday shift is 9:30-6:30, but it was moved to 1:30-10:30pm so that I could help with inventory (yay).
This meant I could meet a couchsurfer friend for lunch and a catch-up before work and arrive a bit early to put some things aside to buy.  I managed to find myself some really cheap shoes in the sale room that I can wear for work so no more walking around all day in my running shoes, and I also bought some tights with windproof material for winter running.
I sold some shoes and saw one of Cecily's friends, although I couldn't speak to her as I was serving another customer.  The inventory company employees gradually arrived and once the shop closed at 6pm, the fun started.
The manager was pretty stressed today, but we did get free pizza as part of the deal.  There was lots of counting and double checking, we found quite a few mistakes by spot checking, which suggests that there are probably still mistakes, but ended up with the total value of all stock in the shop being something like $1,500,000 or $1,400,000.  I forget which.
Its really pretty in Edmonton at the mo, blue skies and yellow trees.  lots of people are off work for the long weekend to do family stuff for thanksgiving, which I think is why i'm working so much more as no one else is available.
I just found out my friend's first marathon time and feel very proud of him.  he didn't just finish, he smashed it!  I really need to find more running friends here.
